Ramadan, 30 Days Of Fasting Begins For Muslims In Montgomery County
Events around the county will help local Muslims celebrate one of their most important holidays.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Ramadan has begun for local Muslims, marking a month of fasting.
Events across Montgomery County will celebrate the event, one of the most important holidays in Islam.
"We'd like to wish a very happy Ramadan to all those who are observing this month," Montgomery County's government office shared on Monday morning. "May your fasts be easy and your days full of peace, joy, and light."

The monthlong observance of Ramadan is a time of fasting, introspection and prayer observed by 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide. It began on the morning of Sunday, March 10 and runs through Tuesday, April 9.
Local events include group prayers, Qaran studies, iftar community meals, and more.

According to the Association of Religion Data Archives' most recently available data, in 2020, there are 10,460 practicing Muslims in Montgomery County.
