Trump Wins 8,000 More Votes In Montgomery Co. Than He Did In 2020
In a county that has grown more solidly Democratic every year, Trump made huge in-roads that helped him secure PA and the White House.

NORRISTOWN, PA — President-elect Donald Trump won some 8,000 more votes in Montgomery County in 2024 than he did in 2020, despite the county overall trending more Democratic in recent local, county, and state elections. It was a critical piece of his campaign that helped him win Pennsylvania and secure his second term in the White House.
While Vice President Kamala Harris still easily carried the heavily blue county, her margin of victory was significantly less than President Joe Biden's was in 2020.

Trump has 193,400 Montgomery County votes as of late Wednesday morning, outstripping his 185,460 from 2020 despite voter turnout appearing to be less than it was four years ago. Harris, meanwhile, earned about 11,300 less votes than Biden did in the county in 2020.
Given that Trump only defeated Hillary Clinton by 44,000 votes in the entire state in 2016, those numbers are pretty damning for the Harris campaign and the Democratic party as it is currently configured. It also sheds further light on just why the Trump campaign spent so much time campaigning in what analysts have always said is a growing blue stronghold in Montgomery County. Even though Democrats have more voters here, the GOP correctly surmised they could make significant gains that would help their statewide cause.
