WATCH: Norristown Locals Take Stage At Michelle Obama, Alicia Keys Event
Thousands turned out to Norristown Area High School over the weekend for the blockbuster event.

NORRISTOWN, PA — When Norristown Area High School student Adam Moffitt stepped into his school's gymnasium Saturday night, it was not to prepare for a game, class, or a school event.
He was climbing up a podium to introduce Michelle Obama.

Moffitt, who plays football for Norristown, was among thousands who got the chance to see the former first lady, along with star musician Alicia Keys, up close.

Moffitt followed up speeches by Gov. Josh Shapiro and Keys, and delivered brief remarks of his own in support of Kamala Harris to roaring cheers.
"There is so much at stake in this election, and we need a president who cares about families like mine," Moffitt said, before adding "it's go time" and introducing Michelle Obama.
When she took the stage, the first thing she did was ask for another round of applause of Moffitt, complimenting him as a "first time voter."
Obama spoke for about 30 minutes to the gymnasium, which was packed with several thousand attendees. Thousands more showed up but there was no room to fit them inside, organizers said, and they watched the event from an adjacent area at the school.
It was the largest political event in Montgomery County this election season since former President Trump's appearance at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks last month. It came a day before Montgomery County native and First Lady Jill Biden held a smaller rally in King of Prussia.
