When To Expect Final 2024 Election Results In Montgomery County
The 2020 contest wasn't decided for days after election night. Here's an idea of what's likely to happen Tuesday night:

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County officials gave a brief outline of what they expect Tuesday night, noting that they expect to be finished counting all Election Day votes by midnight Tuesday.
They also plan to finish counting the first 100,000 of about 170,000 mail-in ballots by midnight. The remainder of mail-ins will be tabulated by early Wednesday morning.

If state and local elections, or the presidential election are extremely close, that means that final results in some races may not be available until Wednesday. If there are court challenges, which in the current climate seems likely, it may be days or even weeks until the winners are known.
But if races have a clearer margin, expect results late in the night Tuesday, by around midnight.

"Absent major disruptions, we’ll have a solid idea late tonight of how things are going," Montgomery County Commissioner and elections chief, Neil Makhija, said Tuesday. "Be prepared to be patient."
In the event of an election as close as 2020, it could take until at least Nov. 12 until voters know who won. That's the deadline for overseas and military ballots.
Polls close at 8 p.m., and early mail-in ballot results will be posted first. This means that Kamala Harris, and probably most Democratic candidates, will be off to an early lead, because most mail-in ballots are Democratic.
Elections officials said that Donald Trump and most Republicans, conversely, will make up quite a bit of ground as Election Day in-person votes are tabulated, and their placings will likely be at their best at around midnight.
Harris and Democrats will then recover some ground in the morning as the final mail-in votes are tallied.
