Where Montgomery Co Coronavirus Cases Are Happening, Town By Town

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Coronavirus cases have been gradually increasing in Montgomery County over the past several weeks, leading officials to change their optimistic tone last week to one of forewarning.

Specifically, the county's rising percent positivity rate on all coronavirus tests, which has risen over the last month from 2.5 to 3.17 percent, was described as a "worrisome trend."

The increases have not occurred in any one specific area, but have been spread around the county. Some zip codes which saw sharp increases over the past three weeks (from the several weeks prior to that) included Villanova with 40 new cases, Harleysville with 39 new cases, Dresher with 30 new cases, and Gilbertsville with 27 new cases.

Norristown's 19403 and 19401 zip codes remained atop the highest overall, along with Pottstown's 19464 and Collegeville's 19426.

Officials note that cases do not seem to be coming from large social gatherings anymore, making them harder to track. Instead, they're happening out in the community, in random interactions.
