Wondrous Women Of Norristown: Arts Group Aims To Empower Local Girls
Norristown girls "can choose from vastly different career paths in the future," a new intiative looks to reinforce.
NORRISTOWN, PA — In age where STEM is often touted as the only road to success for young people, a new initiative in Norristown is making sure girls grow up knowing the world is their oyster.
Local organization Girls First, which puts on free programs for elementary school girls, is hosting a Wondrous Women Career Day and Luncheon on Monday, March 27.
"Students will have lunch with women from diverse career fields who will later talk about the paths they traveled to get there," organizers said. "Career Day is ultimately an opportunity to show girls that they can choose from vastly different career paths in the future and still create opportunities to leave a positive and lasting impact on the world."
