Dr. Anne Shaheen to Receive Health Department Award for Breastfeeding Advocacy
Allegheny County is recognizing Anne Shaheen, M.D., for her work to promote breastfeeding and support of breastfeeding moms and babies.

The Allegheny County Health Department is recognizing Anne Shaheen, M.D., of the Southside, for her work to promote breastfeeding and support of breastfeeding moms and their babies.
“We commend Dr. Shaheen for being an effective breastfeeding advocate with her patients by strongly encouraging them to breastfeed and pointing out its benefits,” said Health Director Dr. Karen Hacker.
Dr. Shaheen is in private practice with OB/GYN Associates of Pittsburgh, a UPMC medical practice with offices in Oakland, Monroeville and Fox Chapel. A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Shaheen completed her residency at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC.

A Certificate of Achievement from the Health Department will be presented to Dr. Shaheen at a Health Department staff meeting on October 8.
