You might be surprised which breeds top the list according to the Allegheny County treasurer's office.

Today, April 11, is National Pet Day. And when it comes to four-legged family members, the McCandless area definitely has its favorite breeds.

According to the list of all dog licenses the Allegheny County treasurer's office sold in 2012, the top pooches in the 15237 zip code are:

1. Mixed breed (571)

2. Labrador Retriever (354)

3. Lab Mix (255)

4. Golden Retriever (193)

5. German Shepherd (112)

(Beagle closely tied German Shepherd at 111)
