North Allegheny Picks Pittsburgh Public School Principal For Assistant Superintendent
He succeeds Dr. Brian Miller who takes over next week as Superintendent of the Pine-Richland School District.
North Allegheny School Directors Wednesday unanimously appointed Dr. Robert J. Scherrer as Assistant Superintendent of K-12 Education.
He succeeds Dr. Brian Miller who takes over next week as Superintendent of the Pine-Richland School District.
For the past four years, Scherrer has served as Principal of the Pittsburgh Science Technology Academy 6-12 in the Pittsburgh Public School District. Previously, he served as Principal of Allderdice High School and has held administrative positions in the Woodland Hills, Peters Township and Baldwin-Whitehall School Districts.
Scherrer will be paid $145,000 a year.
In other action, the North Allegheny School Board, also in an unanimous vote, appointed Daniel O'Rourke Assistant Principal for Carson Middle School.
For the past five years, O'Rourke has been employed by the Upper St. Clair School Disrict as an 8th grade social studies teacher and Professional Learning Community Facilitator.
He will be paid $100,000 a year.
