North Allegheny Area Summer Recreation Program Scheduled

Registration forms will be sent home with the students the last week of school.

There are just a few weeks left of school and summer is quickly approaching. The yearly summer recreation program coordinated by the municipalities of McCandless, Bradford Woods, Franklin Park and Marshall Township starts on Monday, June 10 and continues through Friday, July 6. Tentative summer program hours are 8:45 a.m. until 12 p.m. Participants must have completed first grade. The registration form and medical authorization form are sent home with the students the last week of school. Activities include team sports, group recreation and arts and crafts. According to the town of McCandless web site, the facilities hosting summer recreation programs are McKnight Elementary, Bradford Woods Elementary, and Franklin Elementary school.  The first day of attendance each participant is required to pay $40.00 (either in cash or check) for service and the insurance program. This is a $50.00 deductible insurance coverage and will supplement any present accident policy held by the family.  Checks are to be made payable to the Town of McCandless.  Join Patch for more community news or join us on Facebook and Twitter.
