The North Allegheny School Board is expected to take a final vote on the 2013-2014 budget at its meeting on June 26.
At its meeting on May 22, the North Allegheny School Board rejected a proposed tax increase from its administration, and ordered more cuts so that next year's budget would be "revenue neutral."Â
The vote was 7-2, with Karen Boujoukas and Joseph Greenberg voting for an increase of 0.6611 mills. That would have translated into a $26 monthly increase in the tax bill of a home worth $200,000.
The final proposed budget, which according to the board is "revenue neutral,"Â is $131,302,305.Â
- $76,424,754 goes to teacher salaries and benefits.
- $8,184,388 goes to administrative salaries and benefits.
- $5,885,702 goes to district transportation costs.
