NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Northampton Township officials are reminding people not to forget about the businesses located on either side of the Mill Creek Bridge in Holland.

The bridge is closed until late November while utilities are relocated in preparation for a major $11 million Buck Road realignment and bridge replacement project in 2026.

During the closure, motorists are being directed to use Old Bristol Road, Route 213 (Bridge Town Pike), Route 132 (Street B Road), Churchville Road, Bristol Road, Churchville Lane, and Holland Road.

The closure has left the businesses isolated due to the closure and a posted PennDOT detour. Restaurants like Johnny Apples and other local shops are still open for business, but they might be seeing fewer customers because of the detours.

“Please make sure you continue to patronize the businesses between the bridge and the tunnel. They are isolated there,” said Adam Selisker, the chairman of the board of supervisors. “Please make the extra effort to stop by, grab a meal, shop, or schedule your services with them. These businesses are the heart of our community, and they need us now more than ever.”

Selisker cautioned motorists that “there is a lot of traffic around as people get used to the detour. Take an extra few minutes if you have to go in that direction.”

The relocation of utilities is a joint project of the Northampton, Bucks County Municipal Authority and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Old Bristol Road, Route 213 (Bridge Town Pike), Route 132 (Street Road), Churchville Road, Bristol Road, Churchville Lane, and Holland Road.
