Bucks County Youth Orchestra Tuning Up For 3 Weekend Concerts
The orchestra will showcase the talent of 200 young musicians in a weekend of inspiring performances in Bucks County.

HOLLAND, PA — The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County presents three unforgettable concerts this weekend at the Holland Middle School, 400 East Holland Road, Holland 18966.
The orchestra will showcase the talent of 200 young musicians in a weekend of inspiring performances on Nov. 22 and 23 at three concerts that will highlight the dedication and artistry of students from 14 school districts across Bucks and surrounding counties.
Three String Ensembles
The orchestra's three string ensembles (Prima Strings, Concertino, and Ripieno) will perform on Saturday, Nov. 22, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Holland Middle School. Program highlights include familiar favorites from The Nutcracker Suite as well as works by Prokofiev, Mozart, and Janáček. Arrive early to enjoy prelude performances by the YOBC Honors String Quartet and Amadeus Quartet in the lobby beginning at 1 p.m.

Wind Symphony and Philharmonia
At 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, the orchestra’s Wind Symphony and Philharmonia take the stage with a program featuring works by Sousa, Grieg, and Mussorgsky. Prelude performances by the YOBC Honors String Quartet and Amadeus Quartet begin in the lobby at 4 p.m.
Concert Winds and Symphony Orchestra
Sunday’s concert features the orchestra’s advanced ensembles, Concert Winds and Symphony Orchestra. The performance will feature YOBC student soloist, New-Hope Solebury High School senior violist Stephanie Shonis, performing Max Bruch’s Romanze, Op 85. In addition, listeners will be treated to Beethoven’s propulsive Symphony No. 7, conducted by YOBC Music Director, Sebastian Grand. Prelude performances by the YOBC Honors String Quartet and Amadeus Quartet begin in the lobby at 3:20 p.m.
