Churchville Lane Closed Due to Downed Tree, Utility Poles

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Churchville Lane will be closed until Monday afternoon due to a tree and several utility poles leaning into the roadway, police said.

The Northampton Township Police Department said that Churchville Lane is closed between Holland Road and Hidden Cove Drive and that PECO is in the area fixing the poles.

The road is expected to reopen at 3 p.m. Monday, police said, and police will provide an update when it does.

The National Weather Service said a cold and blustery Monday is ahead as the area dries out from the rain.

A change over to snow is possible before precipitation ends near and northwest of Interstate 95.

A dusting is possible, however, travel impacts are unlikely outside of the southern Poconos, where 2-3 inches of snow is expected.

Lingering minor flooding of streams, creeks, and low-lying areas across the region will remain on Monday.

The National Weather Service advises motorists to stay away from flood waters and not to drive into flooded roads.
