Cops Called On DoorDash Driver Seeking Address: Northampton Log

Police responded to 30 alarms, 32 abandoned 911 calls, 51 medical calls, 4 domestic disputes, and 26 bookings between Sep. 6 and Sep. 12.

NORTHAMPTON, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department responded to incidents including credit card fraud, country club mischief, and numerous collisions over the past week.

  • Police responded to Hill Road at Inland Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The complainant said his 15-year-old daughter was riding her bicycle and believed a gold sedan was following her. The young woman provided the car’s license plate. Police made contact with the driver, who was a DoorDash driver looking for an address.
  • A two-vehicle accident was reported on Heather Road. Police responded to find that the first car had backed into the second. There were no reported injuries, and neither car required a tow.
  • Police responded to Ironworks Creek for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car backed into the second. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.
  • Police responded to Almshouse Road at Temperance Lane for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car sideswiped the second while changing lanes. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.

Tuesday, Sep. 7

  • On 2nd Street Pike at Sackettsford Road, one car turned left in front of the other, causing a collision. No injuries were reported to police and neither car needed a tow.
  • Police responded to a shopping center off 2nd Street Pike for a report of a two-vehicle accident. The first car backed into the second. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.
  • Police responded to a residence off Vernasa Way for a wellbeing check. A complainant said he was on the phone with his father and he lost connection. He said that his father has not returned any calls and requested that police check on him. Police responded to his father’s address and all was fine.

  • Police responded to the Northampton Valley Country Club for a report of criminal mischief. A complainant said that unknown people damaged the greens at the golf course.

Thursday, Sep. 9

  • Police responded to Hatboro Road at Pulinski Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One car pulled in front of the second, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries and neither car required a tow.
  • Police responded to the 100 Block of Buck Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car rear-ended the second. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.

Friday, Sep. 10

  • Police responded to a single-vehicle traffic accident on Bustleton Pike at 2nd Street Pike. The vehicle operator failed to negotiate a light and drove straight into the cement wall behind the traffic light. After further investigation, the car operator was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
  • Police responded to the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car rear-ended the second. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.

Saturday, Sep. 11

  • Police responded to Lower Holland Road at Braebourne Drive for a report of a car accident. The first car struck a deer in the roadway. There were no reported injuries and the first car sustained minor damage.
  • A resident reported fraud to the police. The complainant said he received a phone call from an unknown subject stating that he has a warrant and needs to pay $1,000 to have the warrant removed. The complainant provided the unknown caller with a redemption code that would gain the subject access to the funds. The complainant realized it was fraud and contacted the police.

Sunday, Sep. 12

  • Police responded to Bustleton Pike at Upper Holland Road for a report of a traffic accident. The car’s driver said a deer ran into the roadway, so the operator swerved to miss the deer and struck a guardrail. The driver sustained a hand injury and their car was towed.
  • A resident reported fraud to the police. She said reports an unknown subject used her Chase credit card for a $772.73 purchase at Lowes. Police will follow up.
  • Police responded to Newtown Richboro Road at Holland Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car rear-ended the second. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.
  • Warrington Township Police picked someone up on a Northampton Township warrant and brought the person to Northampton headquarters.
