Deer Running Into Cars On Almshouse Road: Northampton Police Log

Last week, police responded to 13 alarms, 26 abandoned 911 calls, 28 medical calls, five domestic disputes, and 18 bookings.

NORTHAMPTON, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department responded to numerous incidents between Sep. 27 and Oct. 3. Read the details:

Monday, Sep. 27

  • Police responded to Council Rock South after an incident was reported between two people. When police intervened, one of the people involved punched the officer in the face. That person was taken into custody.
  • There was a three-vehicle accident on Middle Holland Road at Old Jordan Road for a report of a three-vehicle traffic accident. The first car rear-ended the second car, causing the second car to strike the third car. There were no reported injuries. The first car needed a tow.

Tuesday, Sep. 28

  • Police responded to the 700 block of 2nd Street Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One car backed into the other. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.
  • A transformer near Middle Holland Road at Rock Way was struck by lightning, causing a disruption in the traffic signal. Armour and Sons are working on fixing the issue.
  • Police responded to Jacksonville Road at Pulinski Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident with an injury. The first car rear-ended the second, and the first car’s driver sustained minor injuries.
  • Police stopped a driver in the area of Township Road at Newtown Richboro Road. The driver was driving a car without an ignition interlock when it was required.
  • Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of 2nd Street Pike. After further investigation, the driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Wednesday, Sep. 29

  • Police responded to Meadow Lane for a report of a suspicious person in the area. Police made contact with the person, who was taken into custody for possession of controlled substance.
  • Police responded to Old Bristol Road at Buck Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car rear-ended the second. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.

Thursday, Sep. 30

  • Someone reported that several cars parked on Keenan Lane were waiting to pick their kids up from school, making it hard for residents to exit the area. Police will follow up.
  • A car was traveling on Almshouse Road when a deer ran into it. No injuries were reported.
  • Police responded to West Bristol Road at Jacksonville Road for a report of a three-vehicle traffic accident. The first car rear-ended the second, causing that car to strike a third. There were no reported injuries and none of the vehicles needed a tow.
  • Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at Newtown Richboro Road and 2nd Street Pike. The first car turned in front of the second car causing a collision. There were no reported injuries and neither car required a tow.

Saturday, Oct. 2

  • A two-vehicle traffic accident was reported on Crossroads Plaza. The first car sideswiped the second car while pulling into a parking space. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.
  • Police responded to Almshouse Road at Beverly Hills Road for a report of a single-vehicle accident. A driver was traveling on Almshouse Road when a deer ran into his car. There were no reported injuries and the car didn’t need a tow.

Sunday, Oct. 3

  • Police responded to a parking lot off 2nd Street Pike for a report of someone possibly driving under the influence. Upon arrival, they spoke with the driver and it was determined he was incapable of safe driving. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
  • Police investigating a domestic incident learned that one of the people on scene was wanted out of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear for a dangerous drugs charge. The person was taken into custody.
