Driver Arrested On Drug Charges: Northampton Crime Report
Police investigate several cases of fraud and identity theft and make several arrests for suspected DUI.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Dec. 1 and 14:
December 1
- Fraud - A resident reported that their bank account balance was zero and found that an unknown person used their bank account information to make purchases in a different state. The complainant had contacted the bank, which froze the account. Information was gathered and this case is assigned to detectives.
- Traffic Accident/DUI Arrest - Patrol responded to Torresdale Drive for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Torresdale Drive when it struck a parked vehicle. Through investigations, the driver of unit 1 was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
December 2

- DUI Arrest - Patrol responded to the 200 block of Holland Road for the report of an intoxicated individual. Once on location, patrol located the subject in question in control of a vehicle. Contact was made and through investigation, the operator was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
- Traffic Stop/Drug Arrest - Patrol initiated a traffic stop in the 1900 block of 2nd Street Pike on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation. During the investigation, patrol located drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody for drug-related offenses.
December 3
- Traffic Accident - Patrol was on Almshouse Road when they came upon a crash. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Almshouse Road when it struck the rear of unit 2, which was stopped in traffic. Tow was not required.

- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Bridgetown Pike and East Holland Road. Unit 1 was stopped on East Holland Road and was waiting to turn left onto Bridgetown Pike. Unit 1 then entered onto Bridgetown Pike and made contact with unit 2, which was traveling northbound on Bridgetown Pike. Tow was required.
December 5
- Fraud - A resident reported that they started receiving bills in the mail from a cell phone carrier. In checking, they found that someone used their information to open an account and purchase a cell phone. Information was gathered and the case was forwarded to detectives.
December 6
- Community - Officers participated in the annual “Shop With a Cop” event.
December 7
- Disabled Vehicle - Patrol observed a disabled vehicle on Holland Road near Rocksville Road. Contact was made with the driver, who reported that they had someone coming to help. The vehicle was off to the side of the roadway and was not causing a hazard.
December 8
- Road Hazard - Patrol responded to the area of 2nd Street Pike and Locust Road for the report of a road hazard. Once on location, patrol observed construction debris on the road. Items were able to be removed.
December 9
- Traffic Accident/DUI Arrest - Patrol responded to the area of Worthington Mill Road and Twining Road for a traffic accident. Once on location, patrol observed one vehicle that was off of the roadway. The driver was taken into custody for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
December 10
- Warrant Arrest - Patrol responded to Paddock Way for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the driver who was making deliveries in the area when they locked themselves out of their vehicle. While on scene, it was found that the driver had an active warrant. They were subsequently taken into custody for the warrant.
December 11
- Theft (Package) - Patrol responded to a home in the Holland section of the township for a package theft. A resident reported that a package addressed to them was delivered to their home, but was then taken by an unknown person. The case is assigned to detectives.
December 12
- Traffic Accident (Deer Involved) - Patrol responded to the 2000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling southbound on 2nd Street Pike when a deer ran into the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.
December 13
- Disabled Vehicle - Patrol responded to Wooden Bridge Road for a vehicle on the road with a flat tire. Once on location, patrol was able to make contact with someone who was able to change the tire and move the vehicle.
December 14
- DUI Arrest - Patrol observed a vehicle with heavy front-end damage traveling northbound on Buck Road near Holland Road. There were no headlights and a traffic stop was initiated. Contact was made with the driver who then fled the area on foot. With the assistance of Lower Southampton Police, officers located the subject inside a nearby business. They were taken into custody for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as well as other related charges.
