Motorcycle Crash, Hit-And-Run: Northampton Police Log
Police responded to 34 alarms, 19 abandoned 911 calls, 34 medical calls, five domestic disputes, and six bookings last week.
NORTHAMPTON, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported a number of incidents last week between Oct. 4 and Oct. 10. Read the details.
Monday, Oct. 4
- A two-vehicle traffic accident was reported on West Bristol Road at Davisville Road, when one car rear-ended another. There were no reported injuries and neither car was towed.

- A complainant said she received a notice from Wells Fargo stating her application was denied for an account, but that she never applied to open an account. She also said the person who tried to open an account did not use her correct name. She contacted Wells Fargo, who advised to file a police report.
- Police responded to 2nd Street Pike at Newtown Richboro Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One car pulled out of a parking lot in front of another car, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries and neither car required a tow.
- A complainant said he received a phone call from someone claiming to be with Amazon Fraud Department. The person said his account has been compromised, and he was instructed to purchase Apple and Google gift cards. The complainant bought the gift cards and provided the numbers to the person. After a few moments, he realized it was a scam and contacted the police.
- Police responded to a motorcycle accident on Orthodox Drive at Temperance Lane. Upon arrival, officers saw a motorcycle laying on the ground with no operator on scene. Police then saw the driver at a nearby home. Due to his injuries, he was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center for further evaluation. After further investigation, police learned that he was driving under the influence.
Wednesday, Oct. 6
- A driver on Hatboro Road reported a deer running into his car near Bobbie Drive. He didn’t report injuries or need a tow.
- A complainant said she wrote a $10 check for homecare services. While checking her bank statement, she noticed the check was altered and changed to $2,150.22. She notified the bank, and the Criminal Investigation Department is following up.
Thursday, Oct. 7

- Police responded to Renee Circle for a report of a hit-and-run accident. One car struck another while turning around. There were no reported injuries and neither car required a tow.
- Police responded to a residence off Winding Way for a report of a fire. Upon arrival, the plumber informed the Fire Department of an outlet smoking. Northampton Fire Department handled the incident and police left the scene.
- Police responded to Portsmouth Court for a report of an accident. One car sideswiped another, which was parked. After further investigation, the driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
- A complainant reported a theft from their car on Jacqueline Circle. Someone entered the car and stole a bottle of cologne at some point between Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 7 at 7:30 a.m.
Friday, Oct. 8
- Police responded to Churchville Lane at Nelson Drive for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car turned left in front of the second, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries, but the second car needed a tow.
Saturday, Oct. 9
- A tractor-trailer accidentally struck low hanging wires on Frog Hollow Drive, pulling them down from several residences. There were no injuries reported.
- Police responded to Ann Drive for a report of an oven fire. Upon arrival, police assisted the Northampton Fire Department with opening windows and ventilating smoke from the home.
Sunday, Oct. 10
- Police responded to an oven fire reported in Village Shires. Upon arrival, the oven was unplugged and power was shut off. The cause appeared to be a bad element inside the oven.
- Police responded to West Bristol Road at Hatboro Road for a report of two-vehicle car accident. The first car rear-ended the second car. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.
