Mulch Fire, Multiple Car Accidents: Northampton Police Log
Police responded to 33 alarms, 18 abandoned 911 calls, 34 medical calls, two domestic disputes, and 13 bookings last week.
NORTHAMPTON, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported numerous incidents between Sep. 20 and Sep. 26. Read their report:
Monday, Sep. 20
- Police responded to a residence for a report of fraud, when a complainant said someone withdrew money from her PNC Bank account. PNC Bank is reportedly following up.
- A two-vehicle accident was reported on 2nd Street Pike and Bustleton Pike. The first car rear-ended the second. The driver of the first car was taken to the hospital for a medical condition unrelated to the accident. After further investigation and follow-up at the hospital, it appeared the first car’s driver was under the influence.
- A 14-year-old young woman was reported missing from home by her mother. Several hours later, she was found and picked up by her family.

- Police responded to Upper Holland Road for a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident. A driver was traveling eastbound when a deer struck his car. There were no reported injuries and his car did not need a tow.
Wednesday, Sep. 22

- Police responded to a parking lot off 2nd Street Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. One car backed into the other. There were no reported injuries and neither car needed a tow.
- While traveling through the Village Shires shopping center, police saw a small mulch fire. Northampton Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.
Thursday, Sep. 23
- Police responded to a residence for a report of an assault. After further investigation, someone was taken into custody.
- Police responded to 2nd Street Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident in which one car rear-ended another. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.
- Police responded to West Bristol Road for a report of a single-vehicle accident. A driver was traveling when a tree limb fell onto his car, breaking his windshield. Both of the car’s occupants were evaluated for injuries, and the car was towed.
Friday, Sep. 24
- A two-vehicle traffic accident was reported at East Holland Road and Grant Drive. The first car attempted to overtake the second car on the right side, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.
- A complainant contacted police to file a report of fraud, saying someone opened three credit cards using his information. He was able to cancel all three credit cards without any monetary loss.
Saturday, Sep. 25
- Police responded to 2nd Street Pike at East Bristol Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. The first car turned left in front of the second car, causing a collision. There were no reported injuries. The second car required a tow.
- Police responded to Holland Road at Middle Holland Road for a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident. The car left the roadway, struck a street sign, and then re-entered the roadway, but was disabled. There were no reported injuries.
Sunday, Sep. 26
- Police observed several mailboxes and trash cans that were damaged in the area of Middle Holland Road. Police saw a car parked on Doe Run Drive, and after further investigation took the driver into custody for driving under the influence.
- Police responded to Shepherd’s Way for a report of three people looking into car windows. Police checked the area but didn’t make contact. Extra police checks will be conducted in the area.
