Northampton Gets State Funding For Buck Road Intersection Project
The funding is coming from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Automated Red-Light Enforcement (ARLE) program.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Northampton Township will get $760,000 in state funding to improve an intersection on Buck Road in the township.
The funding was announced by State Rep. Joe Hogan and is coming from the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation’s Automated Red-Light Enforcement (ARLE) program
Northampton Township will receive $760,100 to improve pedestrian safety and operational efficiency at the intersections of Buck Road (Route 532) and Middle Holland Road/Stoney Ford Road, as well as Buck Road and East Village Road/West Village Road.

“With the ever-increasing number of vehicles on our roads, the project will help to make them safer for both drivers and pedestrians while improving efficiencies,” said Hogan.
Pennsylvania’s ARLE program aims to improve safety at signalized intersections by providing automated enforcement at locations where data shows red-light running has been an issue. Projects were selected by an eight-member committee based on criteria such as safety benefits and effectiveness, cost, and local and regional impact.
