Police File Theft Charges, Make DUI Arrest: Northampton Crime Report
Township police also investigated several traffic accidents and a suspicious vehicle.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Dec. 15 and 21:
Dec. 15
- Retail Theft - Police responded to a business in the 800 block of 2nd Street Pike for a retail theft. Once on location, police spoke with an employee who reported that an individual took items from the store without paying. Through an investigation, police identified a suspect and filed theft charges.

- Traffic Accident - Police responded to a parking lot off of Township Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was pulling out from a parking space when it struck unit 2, which was parked. Information was gathered and tow was not required.
Dec. 17
- Suspicious Vehicle - At 2:16 a.m., police observed an occupied vehicle on West Norton Drive. Police spoke with the individuals inside the vehicle, who were identified. They resided nearby and everything checked out okay.

- Traffic Accident - Police responded to the area of Middle Holland Road and Old Jordan Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Old Jordan Road and had come to a stop. Unit 1 then entered onto Middle Holland Road and struck unit 2, which was traveling on Middle Holland Road. Tow was not required.
Dec. 19
- Traffic Accident - Police responded to the area of 2nd Street Pike and Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road and had stopped for a red traffic signal at 2nd Street Pike. While stopped, the vehicle was struck from behind by unit 1, which was traveling in the same direction. Tow was not required.
Dec. 20
- DUI Arrest - Police initiated a traffic stop on a driver in the area of Upper Holland Road and Township Road for a motor vehicle violation. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Dec. 21
- Traffic Accident - Police responded to the area of Newtown-Richboro Road and Saint Leonards Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling eastbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when it came to a stop due to a road closure. Unit 2 was then struck from behind by unit 1, which was traveling the same direction. Tow was required.
