RICHBORO, PA — The Dairy Queen Grill & Chill at Addisville Commons in Richboro has reopened under new ownership after being closed since March.

The store, which had been a popular spot in the township for ice cream treats and parties, closed in March after the former owner was charged by Northampton Township Police with corruption of minors and tampering with evidence following an incident at the restaurant involving a female employee.

Fans of the store, who launched an online petition last spring calling for the company to replace the owner, declared victory on its petition page in late August after the new owners stepped forward and announced the store’s reopening in August.

“I am waiting for more updates, but new owners was the plan for this petition,” wrote the author of the petition. “Thank you for your support and passion to restore this staple in our community!“

One of the store's managers was the latest to publicly comment about the site: “Hello everyone! I’m one of the managers at the Richboro Dairy Queen! We were made aware that not many people were made aware of our re-opening. And no, we do not have the same owner. Please stop by. I am one of the old managers returning so I hope to see your familiar faces.”

The restaurant features both a "grill" section for hot food like burgers and chicken and a "chill" section for ice cream treats and desserts, including its signature Blizzards, sundaes, banana splits, and peanut buster parfaits. The Grill and Chill concept was launched in 2002 to provide a more comfortable dining experience than traditional DQ locations.
