Special Wawa Meeting For Northampton Supervisors Rescheduled

Here's the latest update on the controversial Wawa proposed for a site in Holland.

NORTHAMPTON, PA — A now twice-postponed meeting to discuss a "Super Wawa" proposed in Holland has been rescheduled for Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.

The Board of Supervisors meeting to review the land development proposal was first supposed to take place in the summer, but has been pushed continuously at the request of developer Provco Pinegood Northampton, LLC. After the most recent cancellation on Oct. 6, residents gathered at the Township Building on 55 Township Road in Richboro for a peaceful protest against the development.

Some residents have been vocally expressing their anger since the Wawa was first proposed, even creating a petition to advocate for their concerns around light, air, and noise pollution from the site — which is closer to homes than some would prefer.

Resident Brett Duffey called the ongoing public presence at meetings, and the impromptu protest last month, "a testament to [residents'] dedication to this issue that they feel so passionate about."

The Wawa would be a 5,585 square ft. gas station and market at 287 Holland Rd, at the nexus of Rocksville, Buck, and Holland Roads. Residents can view the plans for the Wawa online.
