Stolen Packages, More Fraud: Northampton Township Police Log

These incidents and more were reported in Northampton Township. Read all about them below.

RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between Nov. 13 and 19:

November 13

  • Patrol responded to the area of 2nd Street Pike and Glasgow Road for a found dog. There was a Husky that was wondering the area. The dog was taken to a local kennel and a short time later; the dog was reunited with its owners.
  • Patrol responded to the area of West Georgianna Drive for an elderly man with an injury to his face. The man was located and given a ride back to his home. He declined medical attention.
  • Patrol responded to Middle Holland Road for the report of an elderly man who had walked away from a health care facility. Once on scene, patrol made contact with staff and family. Patrol was able to locate the man and provided a transport back to the facility.

November 14

  • A resident reported that she had been receiving phone calls regarding a home loan. Complainant reported that when they checked their credit report, they had found that someone had applied for a loan using their information. They were in contact with the company to stop the loan.
  • Patrol responded to the area of East Elizabeth Lane for a suspicious person wearing camo and taking photographs. Officers checked the area and located the subject who was identified. They were taking photographs of vegetation in the area and lived near-by.
  • A resident reported that they had received a letter from a local bank indicating that they had an outstanding overdraft charge. Complainant reported that they did not have an account with the bank. They were in contact with the bank to have the account closed.

November 16

  • A resident stopped at police headquarters to report a fraud. They said that someone had gained access to their bank account and were able to make several ATM withdraws from a different state. The resident was in contact with their bank. The case was forwarded to detectives.
  • Patrol responded to the area of Grant Drive for the report of criminal mischief. A resident reported that their two vehicles were keyed. Both vehicles were parked on the roadway. The complainant was able to buff out most of the scratches. The area was checked for cameras.
  • Patrol responded to the area of Glen Meadow Drive for a theft. A resident reported that they received a package from FedEx. After the package was delivered, an unknown man approached the home and took the package. The case was forwarded to detectives.
  • Patrol responded to the area of Hatboro Road and New Road for a hit and run traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Hatboro Road when a black SUV struck them. The black SUV left the area. Unit 1 sustained moderate damage and did not require a tow.

November 17

  • Patrol responded to the area of St. Leonards Road for a found dog. The brown Lab mix was transported to a local kennel and the dog owner was located.
  • Patrol responded to East Heron Road for the report of a theft. A resident reported that they had a package delivered to their home by FedEx. In checking cameras, an unknown man is seen taking the package. The case was forwarded to detectives.
  • Patrol responded to the area of Grenville Circle for a burglary. Once on scene, it was found that unknown subject(s) had entered a home by breaking through a back door. The home was cleared by patrol and the incident is being handled by detectives.

November 18

  • A resident reported mailing a check to a business using a mail drop off box in Philadelphia. The business contacted them to advise that they never received a check. The resident checked their account to find that the check had been altered and cashed. The case was forwarded to detectives.
  • Patrol responded to the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike for a fire. A bush was on fire and was able to be extinguished. The incident was turned over to the Northampton Township Fire Department.

November 19

  • Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation. While investigating, it was found that the driver had an active warrant. The driver was taken into custody for the active warrant.
  • Patrol responded to the area of Carmelita Drive for a dwelling fire. Once on scene, a structure that was not attached to the home was engulfed in flames. No one was inside and the incident was turned over to the Northampton Township Fire Department.
  • Patrol responded to the area of Cypress Avenue for a traffic accident involving damage to property. Unit 1 was operating on the roadway when it struck two mailboxes. The vehicle sustained minor damage and did not require a tow.
  • A resident reported that they received an invoice in the mail from a cell phone provider. They did not have an account with the cell phone provider and contacted them to have the charges dismissed. Information was gathered and the resident was given the incident report number of their records.

During this tour, patrol handled 23 alarm calls; 14 abandoned 911 calls; 41 medical calls; 9 bookings; 7 domestic disputes; 7 civil disputes; 60 traffic monitoring details and 8 crime prevention details.
