Allegheny County Council Invites Public to Flag Retirement Ceremony
This year, the ceremony will focus on recognizing the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Allegheny County Council’s North Park Flag Retirement Ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the flag retirement plaza in at the intersection of Babcock Boulevard and Ingomar Road.
Like past events, county council members will honor tattered flags by incinerating them in the plaza’s burn pit. This year, the ceremony will focus on recognizing the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Military veterans, law enforcement officials and emergency responders will be in attendance.
Boy and girl scout troops, local, state and federal elected officials, Pine-Richland JROTC cadets, and Army Major John McCabe from Soldiers & Sailors in Oakland will be present.
