Allegheny County Declares May 17 Bruno Sammartino Day
The Ross Township resident was recently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Bruno Sammartino is being honored in recognition of the 50th anniversary of his first WWE Championship title on May 17, 1963.
Alleunty Executive Rich Fitzgerald, along with Council President Charles Martoni and Council Member John DeFazio, honored Sammartino Friday on the Grand Staircase and Gallery at the Allegheny County Courthouse.
Sammartino was inducted last month into the WWE Hall of Fame. In celebration of his many accomplishments, Fitzgerald and the council members declared May 17, 2013 as Bruno Sammartino Day in Allegheny County.
