Cranberry EMT Seeks to Record Traditional Irish Music
Shawn MacIntyre is working to raise money for studio and recording time.

A Cranberry EMT is raising funds to record an album of traditional Irish and Scottish maritime music. Shawn MacIntyre performs regularly but also practices singing acapella when he can grab spare minutes in between ambulance calls.
“As I grew up, I learned old and ancient songs from Ireland and Scotland as well as sea shanties,” he says. “As I learned these songs, I performed them at first for friends and then at open stages and clubs in Pittsburgh. When I perform, I sing the songs acapella (without accompaniment from instruments). I feel that performing the songs acapella conveys the raw emotion and heritage of the songs.”
Shawn has launched an Indiegogo campaign, aimed at raising enough money to record and share these ancient tunes. Indiegogo is a ‘crowd funding’ site that makes giving donations easy, no matter how small.

MacIntyre’s goal is $5000 to cover studio time to record his album and a professional to transcribe it to CDs.
Folks who donate $25.00 will receive an autographed recording and special thanks in the liner notes of the CD, and smaller donations are acknowledged weekly on the campaign’s thank-you Facebook page.
