Firefighters from Ross Township and McCandless quickly contained a fire which broke out in the basement of a home at 7710 Oak Street in Ross Township Thursday morning.
The fire started shortly after 11 a.m. No one was hurt.
Ross Fire Marshal John Reubi said the man living there had just returned and noticed smoke and fire in the basement. He told investigators he had been having trouble with his furnace, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
