Update: Perry Highway Remains Closed Because of Sewer & Water Line Repairs
Up to a dozen West View businesses were without water until Thursday afternoon.
Perry Highway in West View remains closed in both directions Friday between Center Avenue and West View Park Drive.
Crews Wednesday began to repair of a sewer line underneath Perry Highway, directly across the street from Dunkin Donuts. Then, heavy rains early Thursday morning damaged the sewer repairs, and a ten-inch water main.
“The storms that came through the area pretty much eliminated all of the work that they did Wednesday,” said Lt. Matt Holland of the West View Police Department.

"I will know more by Friday mid-day about the reopening of Perry Highway," said Holland. "We want to make sure the integrity of the road is safe before we let people travel on it.”
In addition to repairing the sewer and water lines, Equitable Gas has to make sure its lines aren't damaged.
“It’s a lot of work, hopefully we can have this road open in the next day or so,” said Holland.
