North Hills Junior High eighth-grade students prepped for the annual PSSA exams with a special event themed around the young adult bestseller "The Hunger Games."

Students were divided into 13 districts with special colors and participated in 13 special lessons the ended with a quiz. The student with the most wins from each district received a prize, and the overall winner won a Kindle Fire for his or her efforts.

Each district also participated in a door decorating contest. The event and prizes were made possible through a Alpha Delta Kappa Support Learning grant awarded to junior high English teachers Vicki Truchan and Nate Wilkinson, who orchestrated the event.
