Mt. Troy Road Extension Closed Until May in Ross

The two-week closing in Ross Township allows crews to install a drainage system and replace the roadway.

The section of Mt. Troy Road Extension between Mt. Troy Road and Peoples Township Road in Ross Township will remain closed to through traffic for two consecutive weeks, according to the Allegheny County Public Works Department.

The road closure began Friday, April 19 and is scheduled to re-open on or before the end of the workday on Friday, May 3.

Crews will be excavating Mt. Troy Road Extension where a deteriorated timber cribbing wall was removed last summer. The contractor will be installing a subsurface drainage system and replacing the roadway with a 24-inch pavement template, officials said.  

The contractor will maintain road access for local residences.

The following detour route is suggested:

From Peoples Township Road, turn left onto Mt. Troy Road Extension to Mt. Troy Road, turn right onto Mt. Troy Road to Mt. Troy Road Extension, then turn right onto Mt. Troy Road Extension.
