North Hills Community Outreach Accepting Donations on Groupon to Benefit Organic Garden

For every $300 raised, North Hills Community Outreach will be able to provide organic soil and mulch to foster the growth of 25 fruit trees in its community-based, organic garden.

The North Hills Community Outreach has partnered with the philanthropic arm of Groupon to gain a bit of grassroots support this spring.

The non-profit is seeking donations to help provide organic soil and mulch for fruit trees in its garden.

In increments of $10, donors can pledge support for the project on the Pittsburgh Groupon Grassroots page through April 9. Donations are tax deductible.

For every $300 raised, North Hills Community Outreach will be able to provide organic soil and mulch to foster the growth of 25 fruit trees in the Rosalinda Sauro Sirianni Garden—a community-based, organic garden.

Food pantry volunteers planted 25 fruit trees last year in its community gardens, according to the Groupon page. Ideally, the non-profit says the fruit trees will eventually yield fresh, organic produce that can be donated to the more than 1,400 families who rely on North Hill’s two local food pantries.
