Master Sgt. Bryan Schubert serves at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado.

A North Hills High School  graduate, and now an Air Force Master Sgt., has been awarded the Bronze Star.

Master Sgt. Bryan Schubert was honored for his actions during a six-month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

"As the day and night shift operations NCO in-charge for a joint task force, Schubert showed superior leadership and operational expertise that proved instrumental to the overall success of the mission," the Air Force said in a statement. "Schubert expertly advised several assigned Afghan senior military and governmental leaders who were responsible for real-time targeting and deconfliction of hundreds of operations directed against insurgent networks."
