PennDOT Warns McKnight Road Bridge Work Will Cause Additional Delay Tuesday

Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected Tuesday on McKnight Road near the bridge that carries McKnight Road over Babcock Boulevard.

A brief traffic stoppage of 15 minutes or less is likely between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday on McKnight Road at the bridge over Babcock Boulevard, according to PennDOT.

On-sight message boards will be used to alert motorists once a firm time is established for the stoppage. Crews will be jacking the bridge, which cannot occur under traffic, for bearing replacements.

The work is part of an $8.8 million, 4.6 mile project that includes milling and resurfacing, concrete pavement patching, drainage, guide rail, concrete barrier, curb and sidewalk improvements, curb ramp installation, signing and pavement markings, and signal upgrades on McKnight Road between Nelson Run Road and Perrymont Road, as well as bridge preservation on the structure that carries McKnight Road over Babcock Boulevard.
