Pepperidge Farm Recalls Baked Naturals Sesame Sticks, Fears Small Wires in Snacks

Pepperidge Farm has recalled about 13,000 cases of its Baked Naturals Sesame Sticks manufactured at a plant in Ohio because they might contain small thin pieces of wire.

The company said it would voluntarily recall the 10.2-ounce boxes of sesame sticks as a precaution because a few customers reported scrapes in or around their mouths after eating the snacks. The sesame sticks were manufactured and shipped from the Pepperidge Farm plant in Willard, Ohio, and bear sell-by dates between Nov. 20 and Jan. 1. No other Pepperidge Farm items are involved in the recall.

Boxes subject to the recall are marked with a yellow banner across the top of the package that reads "20% More!" The packages also bear one of these codes and sell-by dates on the top flap:

Customers who have purchased any of these packages should not eat the contents. Packages may be returned to the stores where they were purchased for exchange or full refund. Customers also may contact Pepperidge Farm between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 866-535-3774.
