Pie Toss Payoff for North Hills Jr. High Student Readers

Encouraged by the screams and applause of the 7th and 8th grade classes of North Hills Jr. High School, nearly a dozen lucky students were allowed to toss whipped cream and chocolate pies at their English teachers, assistant principal and principal Wednesday afternoon.

The pie toss was a payoff for the students collectively beating the goal, set last year of reading more than 1-million pages.

English teacher Nate Wilkinson, wearing a fresh layer of whipped cream and chocolate sauce, said the program was so successful, they plan to do it again next year.
