Ross Board President Wants North Hills School District Cited Over Tall Grass
Grant Montgomery calls the area in front of one of the district's elementary schools an "embarrassment."
Ross Township Board of Commissioners President Grant Montgomery Monday night directed code enforcement officers to cite the North Hills School District because of uncut grass in front of McIntyre Elementary.
"It's just embarrassing," said Montgomery. "You can't read the sign because the grass is so tall. Instead of putting decorative rock or something else around the sign, they simply let the grass grow wild. I want code enforcement to cite them."
Once cited, the district would have 30 days to comply with the order to cut the grass, but it appears the district won't wait that long.
"That area is part of a bio-retention pond and has to be carefully weeded," said Amanda Hartle, North Hills Communications Coordinator. "Cutting the tall grass in that area is on the list and it will be remediated Wednesday."
