Burglaries Reported at Highland Country Club, Oakridge Road

Monday, Sept. 5

A 26-year-old woman reported a glass tobacco pipe was taken from her vehicle along Rossmor Court. A suspect was taken into custody.

A 46-year-old woman reported a forced burglary at the sometime between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:15 a.m. Monday. Cash in the amount of $200 was missing from the merchandise room.

Sunday, Sept. 4

A 26-year-old woman reported a non-forced burglary of her residence on Oakridge Road sometime between 7 p.m. and midnight. Items missing included pictures. A suspect was identified and arrested.

Friday, Sept. 2

Managers of  Department store reported the internal theft of $1,300 from cash registers. Charges are to be filed in .

Thursday, Sept. 1

An 89-year-old man reported a forced burglary at his residence in the 7000 block of Perry Highway. Items missing included vinyl records.

Wednesday, August 31

A 45-year-old man reported the theft of a handgun from his residence on Jefferson Drive sometime before 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.

A 17-year-old girl and her mother were given citations after a police officer witnessed the mother give the daughter a cigarette to smoke, which the daughter later put out and threw into a sewer along Spruce Valley Drive.

A 29-year-old woman reported the theft of an iPhone from her vehicle along East Orchard Avenue sometime between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 30

A 19-year-old man reported a non-forced burglary of his residence on Clarwin Avenue sometime between 11:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m while he was away at school. Items missing included video games, cash, a laptop computer, a graduation ring, a ½-karat diamond ring, an 18-karat pearl ring, a silver ring and red ruby earrings with diamonds.

A 49-year-old woman reported the theft of a wallet in the area of 100 Spruce Valley Court. Other items missing included credit and debit cards, gift cards, a state ID card, cash, checkbook, medical card and a AAA card.

A 72-year-old man reported he and his three-year-old Chihuahua were attacked by two dogs, a Pitbull mix and a pure-bread Pitbull, in the area of Lilly Avenue. He told police that while walking his pet, the two other dogs came out from the side of a house and attacked the Chihuahua. When he bent down to pick up and protect his pet, the dogs turned on him as well.

The man was taken to a hospital and treated for pucture wounds on his nose and thumb. The Chihuahua was taken to an animal hospital, where its condition was unknown. Triangle Pet was summoned to take custody of the pit bulls, which were licensed. The owner of the dogs cooperated and they were taken into custody without incident. Charges are pending and a dangerous dog petition is to be addressed at district court for disposition of the case, police said.
