Sinkhole to Keep Perry Highway Closed Until at Least Wednesday

Crews are hoping to reopen Perry Highway between West View Park Drive and Center Avenue in West View by Wednesday.

Workers have been repairing the connection between a drain pipe and a culvert  underneath the roadway.

Heavy rains a week ago Monday flooded the drainpipe and washed away fresh fill from a sewer repair the previous week, creating a sinkhole in the far right northbound lanes. 

That same section of Perry Highway was closed for five days the week before last after another rainstorm damaged a sewer and a 10-inch water pipe.
