Deadline for West View Halloween Parade Registration Date is Tonight

Participation in Monday's parade is free, but to be eligible for goodie bags and costume prizes, preregistration is required. Trick-or-Treat night will be Oct. 31.

West View's annual Halloween parade will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24 — rain or shine. 

The parade line will form at 6:30 p.m. on Highland Avenue. Participants will parade down Perry Highway to Center Avenue. About 700 people have marched in the parade in years past. The parade also will include the school band, fire department and V.F.W. color guard. 

Participation in the parade is free, but to be eligible for goodie bags and costume prizes, preregistration is required.

Categories for the costume contest include: children of preschool age through the sixth grade; teenagers; and groups. 

Sign up at the at 441 Perry Highway Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The winners of the costume prizes will be posted in the borough window after 9 p.m. on Oct. 24 and published on North Hills Patch that night. 

First prize wins $25; second prize, $20; and third prize, $15, in each of the three categories. Winners will awarded their prizes on Thursday, Oct. 27. 

Trick-or-Treat night will be held Monday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., which will also be the same night and time for Ross Township's Trick-or-Treat night.
