5 Nonprofits To Get Behind In The North Whitehall Area

From volunteer fire companies to animal shelters and food banks, these agencies in the Lehigh Valley always need public support.

NORTH WHITEHALL, PA — Nonprofit groups are keystone community organizations in the North Whitehall area. Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially, and that need your help.

Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the North Whitehall area:

1. Second Harvest Food Bank —Helps feed the hungry in the Lehigh Valley and five other counties in Northeast Pennsylvania, helping more than 200 agencies.

2. North Whitehall Township Fire Departments —The township is served by four, local volunteer fire companies and one ambulance company. These groups receive financial assistance from the township but also rely heavily upon state grant support and the generous donations of the residents.

3. Lehigh Valley Humane Society —The Allentown-based shelter helps to find forever homes for pets. Donations are always welcome.

4. ArtsQuest —Provides arts, culture, and educational programs in the Lehigh Valley. The organization is partnering with the township to produce four events at Grange Park in nearby Upper Macungie this year.

5. Laury’s Athletic Association —Laury’s Athletic Association was established in 1956 and maintains a membership of 125 sons and daughters from our community. The non-profit youth baseball and softball organization assists in the development of our community youth and young adults.
