YMCA Launching New Free Health & Wellness Programs in Allentown

YMCA enrolling Healthy Lifestyles and Veterans free health and wellness Pathway programs which start Jan. 13 at the Allentown branch.

Allentown - River Crossing YMCA has announced the Winter 2025 Pathway health and wellness programs throughout Bucks, Lehigh and Hunterdon counties. YMCA Pathway programs are free to the community, and qualified participants need not be members of the Y. Pathway programs, made possible by donors to the Y, are intended to provide vital health and wellness support to groups of individuals who share a particular health need or concern in common, and come with a variety of YMCA benefits, including transitional membership, personal training and guided support. All winter Pathway programs launch on January 13, and require pre-registration and sometimes a health professional’s clearance to participate.

In Allentown, the Y will continue to offer the Veterans Wellness Pathway program, following the resounding success of the Fall 2024 program, which graduated 10 military veterans and/or their partners in November. Launching in January for the first time at the Allentown branch is the Healthy Lifestyles Pathway program for individuals at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

The Veterans Wellness Pathway program is a free, 12-week program for current and retired or honorably discharged members of the US Armed Forces and/or a partner, spouse or family member. The program includes a free family membership to the Y for the length of the program, and successful graduates receive an additional 6-month branch membership to support the continuation of the healthy practices learned in the program. The YMCA Veterans Wellness Pathway program has served over 1,000 participants since its inception in 2015 and includes weekly in-person exercise training, nutrition counseling, and a weekly virtual meeting to discuss progress, habits and mindfulness.
