• ARIPPA, Eastern PA Coalition For Abandoned Mine Reclamation Award Lackawanna River Conservation Association Mini-Grant; Next Round Opens Jan. 1 (blogspot.com) — Historic mine flooding that once damaged properties from Old Forge through Scranton, Olyphant, and Carbondale is getting fresh attention thanks to a new mini‑grant for the Lackawanna River Conservation Association. The funding will support research, a white paper, and future exhibits explaining how underground mining ended, why the Old Forge Borehole was built, and how its pollution still affects the river today.
