5K Races to be Held in Collegeville, Trappe this Weekend

The Collegeville Rotary and Trappe Organizations will celebrate spring with two runs.

 

Runners will line the streets in the Perkiomen Valley this weekend, as the Collegeville Rotary holds the Annual 5-K Run Around on Saturday Trappe hosts the Bunny Hop 5K Race and Family Fun Walk on Sunday.

The Collegeville Rotary will hold its annual Run Around 5K and fun walk on Saturday, beginning at the Perkiomen Valley High School. The race begins at 9 a.m.

“We want to make this your big Perkiomen Valley family event for the early spring. Runners and walkers are invited to participate in this officially timed event with awards given for 5K run,” according to organizers.

The cost for either the run or the walk is $25.

Proceeds of the run will benefit the local community through support for student scholarships and programs.

Trappe Bunny Hop 5K

The Bunny Hop 5K and Fun Walk will start at 9 a.m. at the Trappe Fire House, located at Fifth Avenue and Main Street in Trappe. Check-in begins at 8 a.m.

Race sponsors include Miracle in Motion, Trappe Borough, Trappe Volunteer Co. and Trappe Tavern.

Cost is $25 for an adult to run the 5K, $10 for a youth runner. Cost for the Family Fun Walk is $10.

Proceeds from the walk will go towards the purchase of a Jenn Swing for Rambo Park in Trappe Borough.
