House Bill Would Rename Montco Road For Fallen PA State Trooper
The legislation authored by two Montco state lawmakers would designate part of Main Street in Trappe the Trooper Branden Sisca Highway.

TRAPPE, PA — Two area state lawmakers have introduced legislation that would rename part of a local road in this central Montgomery County borough in honor of fallen Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Branden Sisca, who was struck and killed along Interstate 95 in Philadelphia by a suspected drunk driver this spring.
State Reps. Joe Ciresi and Joe Webster, both Montgomery County Democrats, announced Wednesday that they introduced House Bill 2786, which would rename a portion of Main Street in Trappe, also known as State Route 4031, the Trooper Branden T. Sisca Memorial Highway.
Sisca, who was only 29 years old, was also the chief of the volunteer Trappe Fire Company, having only been named to that position in January.

He was a graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from West Chester University and a master's degree in safety, security and emergency management from Eastern Kentucky University.
Sisca began volunteering with the Trappe Fire Company back in 2008, when he was just a teenager.
"Trooper Branden T. Sisca embodied the meaning of being a public servant. His selfless commitment to putting the needs of others first made him a pillar of our community," Rep. Webster said in a statement. "I am proud to support legislation that will honor his legacy by designating Main Street in the Borough of Trappe as, 'Trooper Branden T. Sisca Memorial Highway.' We are forever grateful for Trooper Sisca's dedication to his community and proud to keep his legacy alive."
Sisca, who had enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police in February 2021, was assigned to a patrol section in the City of Philadelphia.
He was working along I-95 in South Philly by the sports stadium complex at the time of his death.
He and fellow Trooper Martin F. Mack, III, a fellow young trooper who was also killed during the accident, were attempting to help a stranded pedestrian when they were struck.
The pedestrian, Reyes Rivera Oliveras, 28, of Allentown, Pa., was also killed.
Jayana Webb, a young woman from Eagleville, Montgomery County, is facing charges in the case.
Police allege she was driving drunk and speeding when she struck the two troopers and Oliveras.
"The death of State Trooper Branden T. Sisca was a terrible loss for the Trappe community and the commonwealth of Pennsylvania," Rep. Ciresi said in a statement. "As both a volunteer firefighter and a state trooper, Trooper Sisca dedicated his life to protecting Pennsylvanians, some he had known all his life, others strangers. To both, his commitment was total.
"We've chosen to rename the section of Main Street after him because it would be close to the Trappe Fire Company where he volunteered for close to half of his life, and this designation would serve as a reminder of his selfless service and sacrifice," Ciresi continued.
Sisca's widow, Brittany, gave birth to the couple's daughter, Brynn Tyler Sisca, after the fallen trooper's death.
Sisca's father, Craig Sisca, is also a volunteer with the Trappe Fire Company who by day works as a sheriff's deputy in Montgomery County.
