Augustus Carnival, Lower Frederick Steak Night This Week

A B Street Band Performance, PVHS cheerleader bake sale also coming up.

Summer Explorer Camp starts on Monday for kids in Kindergarten and first grade. Experiments, discoveries, new friends and crafts are planned for the week, and a lot of time outdoors.

Dine and Donate at DaVinci’s Pub in Collegeville on Tuesday, beginning at 6 p.m.  The Women’s Bridge Resource Center, an organization that help women in crisis or transition, will receive 20 percent of every food bill when a coupon is presented; for an electronic coupon, e-mail wbrc9407@gmail.com.

The Augustus Community Carnival kicks off on Wednesday, and will feature rides, food, a bake sale, clothing sale, crafters and more.  The Trappe Fire Co. will be on hand with a dunk tank, and will sell chicken barbecue on Saturday. Proceeds from the fair will help to fund a new Trappe Fire Co. building.

The Schwenksville Borough Concert in Meadow Park will be held Wednesday night. The Christopher Dean band will take the stage at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, tickets go on sale for Chester County’s Best Kept Secrets Tour on Sept. 20, during which participants can travel among 35 businesses —17 of them new since last year— to enjoy gifts, games, demos, tours and more. Tickets are $8 per person.

On Friday, the B Street Band, a Bruce Springsteen cover band, will perform at the Providence Town Center Courtyard, located behind Eastern Mountain Sports and the Town Book Center.

On Saturday morning, the Perkiomen Valley High School Cheerleaders will hold a bake sale at the Landis Supermarket in Schwenksville.

On Saturday night, the Lower Frederick Fire Company will hold its annual Fabulous Steak Night at the fire company pavilion beginning at 4 p.m. A $25 ticket gets participants a 16-ounce T-bone steak, homemade Manhattan clam chowder, corn on the cob, salad bar, desserts, beer soda and water.
