Collegeville Black Sox Leave Community Field for Ursinus

Players with the Collegeville Black Sox started their first home game of the Perkiomen Valley Twilight League season in early May at Ursinus College, a departure from their normal venue, Collegeville Community Park on West Fourth and Park Avenues in the borough. 

According to a report in the Times Herald, the move was made due to the field conditions at the Collegeville Community Park.

“I’ll miss the nostalgia of the old place,” catcher Marc Wagner told the Times Herald. “But that wasn’t a place befitting the league champs.”

The team is still in talks with Ursinus regarding a long-term stay.
