Collegeville History: Easily Purchased on Ebay

The popular internet auction site holds pieces of Collegeville's past.

According to SlideShare.net, a forklift is sold every four hours on Ebay.

The popular internet auction site has grown greatly since its start in 1996. The site currently boasts 248 million registered users, worldwide.

It's no surprise then that some of the 105 million items currently available for sale include some great historical pieces of Collegeville.

Did you ever visit the Collegeville Inn in the 1950s? Someone in the auction community did, and they're offering up a matchbook from their visit on Ebay.

Some of the best finds from the Collegeville area include an assortment of postcards. From scenes of Ursinus to vintage views of the Perkiomen Bridge or Gravel Pike Railroad, a great variety of picturesque antique postcards show a history of the borough, one black-and-white photo at a time.

Did your parents or even grandparents buy their furniture from Fisher's Furniture in Collegeville? Around 1920, the local business had collectible plates made. For just under $17, you can get your very own Fisher's Furniture plate on Ebay.

Collegeville National Bank issued collectable paperweights around 1900, according to a seller on the site. The seller is offering up his or hers glass weight for just $35.95.
