Collegeville Rotary Holding Speech Contest for Methacton Students at Ursinus
Methacton High School students will address an ethical issue using the famed Four-Way Test on March 20, with a chance to advance in the competition and win $1,000.
The Collegeville Rotary Club is sponsoring a Four-Way Speech Contest for Methacton High School students at Musser Auditorium, Ursinus College at 7 p.m. on March 20, which will promote “high ethical standards” in our community. The public is welcome to attend the event.
The contest, sponsored by many clubs of Rotary District 7430, is based on the Rotary four-way test, a widely used business ethics test, created by Rotarian Herbert Taylor in 1932. It poses four questions:

- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Using these principles, students have been asked to address an ethical problem. All speeches will be between five and seven minutes, and the winner of the local contest has the opportunity to win $100.00 to move on to the area contest on April 13 .
On April 27, winners from the area contests will compete in the Rotary District Conference where they have an opportunity to win a $1000 prize.

A similar contest is being held at Perkiomen Valley High School on March 19, sponsored by the Central Perkiomen Rotary Club.
