The first two days of the week were relatively quiet for Brown, as he traveled from New Concord to Pleasant Grove, Ohio, according to Brown's blog.

Brown visited the National Road/Zane Grey Museum in Norwich, Ohio, where he believes Joan purchased a book on the National Road that would be come instrumental in Brown’s decision to walk cross-country.  The museum was closed for remodeling, but he was permitted inside to look around – and he was also given “The Historic National Road in Ohio.”

“How cool to have the museum all to myself to see oversized pictures and displays of all the things I’ve walked past the last 460 miles,” Brown blogged.

Further on in the trip, Brown’s sister joined him for 18 miles of the walk over three days, by Day 37, his cousin Jim and his wife Karen joined him on the day’s walk – the first people to join him for an entire walk in over 3 weeks, Brown said.

On Day 38, from Etna to Columbus, Ohio, Brown had nine walking companions, including Brittney, a 21-year-old ovarian cancer survivor and her family.

The following day, en route to Alton, Ohio, Brown was featured on WCMH-TV NBC 4 with Mindy Drayer to be presented a check for $500 from the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio.

Later in the day, eight walkers joined Brown for his trek

If anyone knows of people along Route 40 who may be interested in walking with Brown, his schedule is available here.
